The process for this piece was full of many unexpected turns and nothing close to the vision I had when I first began, and for that, I am very grateful. There's something about the way a dry brush slides across the grain of the canvas that is so immediately satisfying... and the way the creamy layers begin to combine and contrast as they interact. ‘Surprise’ has a semi-gloss finish (2 coats of water-based, non-yellowing/UV protectant)
